Bid Writing for Major Accountancy Practice
This case study outlines how CBC expert Bid Consultants worked with a major accountancy practice to develop their tender documentation and win a place on a major national framework.

Scope of works:
This is a well-established accountancy practice with circa 70 staff. The Managing Partner worked with Amanda when she was developing a tender for a client of theirs and decided afterwards that he would explore the services which would suit them. They had a great client base in the Private Sector but not maximising their sales opportunities in Public Sector.
Having discussed their existing approach and what they hoped to achieve, the first project we undertook was to work with the client to create a suite of graphically designed Bid Library templates to showcase their services and enhance their brand identity.
We then worked with the client to develop CV’s of key team members and Case Studies which demonstrated the breadth of their service offering, in each of their specialist divisions. We also produced a Proposal template which they populated to provide a more professional presentation in their private sector proposals.
In 2019, a major OGP Framework for the Provision of Accountancy, Audit and Financial Services was published in 6 Lots. Amanda reviewed what was required for each Lot and provided headings and guidelines to develop responses to each question. She worked with the client bid team to project manage the framework responses and ensure all developed content met and indeed exceeded the specification requirements. As there was a strict page restriction, this was quite challenging, but was managed by a collaborative approach with the Client team creating the responses, which the Consultant then reviewed. This had the added benefit of also being more cost effective.
The final submission was a high quality document which reflected the true professionalism and range of services offered by the Client, with the client being one of the few practices awarded a place on every Lot on the framework.Added value:
We developed a great relationship with this client and provide ongoing support to their tender team who contact us for advice and clarification on other tenders.
By ensuring each response was written to the highest quality, we developed a tender library for the client who was able to reuse the responses to populate future bids.
